The California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association has been a leader in developing water industry guidelines, standards, procedures, training and newsletters for over 85 years. It is the largest AWWA regional section, with over 8,000 members.
To fulfill its mission of leading, educating, and serving the drinking
water community to ensure public health and to provide safe and
sufficient water for all, CA-NV AWWA offers a number of educational
opportunities such as conferences,
workshops, an educational
symposium and extravaganzas,
and the Water College. CA-NV
also manages six professional certification
programs serving over 20,000 individuals, helping to ensure
drinking water safety for over 35 million people. The Section publishes
a quarterly journal, Source
, and helps disseminate technical input on drinking
water issues to state regulators and legislators.
