Environmental, Health, and Safety Committee
Promote responsible protection and preservation of the environment, human health and worker safety for water utilities. The committee strives to: (1) identify and track changes to new and existing environmental, health and safety related regulatory requirements and determine how these regulations affect water utility compliance; (2) disseminate useful information on techniques, strategies, and management approaches to comply with regulatory requirements and reduce the potential for people and the environment to be harmed by activities undertaken by water utilities; (3) provide comments, recommendations and positions of the Section to legislators and regulators on environmental, health and safety issues with the approval of the Section Chair; and (4) work in coordination with the CA-NV Section Award’s Committee to recognize member utilities who are doing an exceptional job in the field of health and safety.
