Water Well Design & Construction Workshop

AWWA Members $150.00 / Non-Members $250.00 This workshop will highlight the critical components associated with the design and construction of a municipal ground water production well. The workshop presentations will address the major steps involved in the well construction process including siting criteria, material selection, formation sampling, gravel pack selection, screen slot size selection, well development, pump selection and well performance evaluation. Proper application of these design and construction techniques can maximize the well's production potential and service life. Additional topics will include the definition of well efficiency and a discussion on the hydraulic losses that contribute to drawdown in the well. The primary goal for designing and constructing an efficient well is to minimize the hydraulic losses which will reduce the drawdown in the well, thereby resulting in lower pumping costs for the well owner.
