Water Quality & Regs For Chemical Parameters-RC

Member $195 / Non-member $295

Please note that a similar class focusing on microbial constituents and distribution system water quality will be held on August 27.

Objective:
Provide attendees with a general but complete overview of water quality aspects that pertain to drinking water quality with a focus on chemical and physical constituents, along with the regulatory requirements of these constituents.

Description:
The workshop begins with an introduction on source water types and contaminant classification, followed by a brief review of treatment strategies.  An introduction on drinking water regulations is then provided, including a presentation of the regulatory agencies, potential health effects that may result from water contaminants and regulatory processes (Unregulated Contaminants Monitoring, UCM, Program and Contaminant Candidate Lists, CCL).  The key physical and chemical water quality parameters are then discussed, including definitions, characteristics, removal or control, monitoring and regulatory requirements.
