Water Quality & Regs For Microbial Parameters-RC

Please note that a similar class focusing on chemical constituents will present background information useful for this class.  This class will be held on August 26.
Objective:
Provide attendees with a general but complete overview of water quality aspects that pertain to drinking water quality with a focus on microbial constituents, along with their regulatory requirements.

Description:
The workshop begins with an introduction on source water types and classification of contaminants, followed by an introduction on microbial contaminants and inactivation.  An introduction on drinking water regulations is then provided, including a presentation of the regulatory agencies, potential health effects that may result from water contaminants and regulatory processes (Unregulated Contaminants Monitoring, UCM, Program and Contaminant Candidate Lists, CCL).  Selected microbial indicators are then discussed:  bacterial, protozoa, viruses, fungi and algae.

This class is 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
