Groundwater Workshop - Rancho Cucamonga

Description:
Overview of groundwater aspects that pertain to the drinking water industry.  Identify groundwater sources and discuss factors which influence water quality and quantity, followed by a review of the groundwater management practices.  This will include a discussion on regulatory requirements and current legislation intended to address overdraft issues, groundwater recharge and groundwater protection.  The workshop also presents an overview on groundwater well design and construction methods, as well as pump and motor equipment.  It ends with a selection of water quality issues specific to groundwater systems, i.e., iron, manganese, nitrate, chloride, conductivity and hardness.  Treatment processes such as chloramination, fluoridation, pH adjustment and corrosion control will be discussed.  Finally, issues related to the mixing of two different source waters, surface water and groundwater will be discussed.

This workshop is 7:30 am - 3:40 pm.

Please park in the Event Parking Lot - Lot C.  This parking is located on the North side of Ashford Street before you enter Cucamonga Valley Water District.  The classroom is located on the first floor of the Frontier Project.  The Frontier Project is the building located on your right when you enter the gate.

Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Full refund of fee paid (minus 25% handling fee) will be issued for cancellations received more than 15 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
