Class Description: Join our FREE webinar for vital information that California water systems need to know concerning the Lead User Service Line inventory and Replacement Timelines, as mandated by Senate Bill 1398 and SB 427.  Any water system with a lead user service line or a user service line made of unknown material must submit a timeline for replacement of that user service line to the Division of Drinking Water by July 1, 2020.  Approved timelines will be placed on the DDW webpage. The presentation will provide information on what water systems will need to include in their timelines, how to submit and conditions of approval to protect the health of the water system customers.

Speaker:
Kurt Souza, P.E., Southern Branch Chief of DDW will explain what to include in a replacement timeline and how the approvals will work.  Following the revised Lead and Copper Rule published recently by USEPA, some specific procedures must be followed to ensure the protection of public health during the replacement of lead service lines, and for compliance with California state rules and any new version of the LCR into the future.

Speaker: Adam Feffer is the Manager of Water Quality for San Jose Water. Adam will discuss the company’s experience in preparing for the replacement of lead service lines where San Jose Water Company made a careful inventory of the lead and unknown materials in its service area. Adam has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Dartmouth, and a Master's in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is a Professional Civil Engineer in California with 15 years of drinking water experience. Adam currently oversees drinking water compliance, water quality optimization studies, and related capital improvement projects at San Jose Water.
