Description:
Water utilities are facing the issues of aging infrastructure as well as work forces that are eligible for retirement.  This can present risks to the community's water supply in terms of availability and safety.  This webinar will look at these issues.  It will evaluate how to address aging infrastructure and systems, discuss planning for moderation and how these issues can be mitigated.  It will also look at best practices and maintenance to get the longest possible life out of existing systems.  It will look at methods for knowledge transfer and documenting water utility operations.  Finally, it will discuss funding options.

Instructor: Henry Palechek

Henry Palechek has been working in the instrumentation and control field since 1986.  He and his staff designed and installed a SCADA system.  That system controls a 106 MGD water treatment plant with ozone as its primary disinfectant and oversees a 50 square mile water distribution system.  Henry has been teaching community college classes in water technology since 1993.  He holds a BS degree in Information Systems and four AS degrees in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Electronic Technology and Computer Science.  He currently holds a California T5 and D2 certification and an AWWA CA/NV AWTO 4.

Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Full refund of fee paid (minus 25% handling fee) will be issued for cancellations received more than 15 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
