Description:
This webinar will look at the control systems used by a water utility's staff to move water throughout the distribution system to maintain water quality.  It will also look at best practices for maintaining reliability in the system.  Some examples would be proper maintenance and budgeting.  Finally, it will look at long term planning and effective use of capital improvement programs.

This webinar is 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm on April 12.

Instructor: Henry Palechek

Henry Palechek has been working in the water utility field since 1989.  He started at the City of San Diego and later moved to Helix Water District.  Helix has a 106 MGD water treatment plant with ozone as its primary disinfectant, a 50 square mile water distribution system, serving about 500,000 connections which incudes delivering water to three other districts.  Henry has been teaching community college classes in water technology since 1993.  He holds a BS degree in Information Systems and four AS degrees in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Electronic Technology and Computer Science.  He currently holds a California T5 and D3 certification and an AWWA CA/NV AWTO 5.

Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: Full refund of fee paid (minus 25% handling fee) will be issued for cancellations received more than 15 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. Transfers are based on availability. No transfer requests will be authorized if they are not received more than 15 days prior to class start date. A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is canceled by the Section.
