Cross Connection Specialist Course - Rancho Cucamonga

Member $830 / Non-member $960

Attendance is mandatory.  In order to receive the specified amount of CEUs, students must attend 100% of allotted class time and successfully demonstrate their understanding of the material and information covered in this course through a final exam, with a score of at least 70%.  If a student misses any training time or scores 69% or lower on the final exam, student will receive Contact Hours for instructional time received in course.

Refunds are not permitted within 15 days of the course.

Description:
This 36-hour course is the continuation of knowledge that is started as a certified backflow prevention assembly tester.  Additional emphasis is directed towards the identification, location and abatement of actual and potential cross connections.

As recycled water becomes an important resource to be utilized in the correct manner, the cross connection control specialist will be integral to implementing changes protecting the potable water supply from being cross connected to recycled water sources.  Title 22, California Code of Regulations (rule and regulations regarding recycled water), does require that a recycled water system program be supervised by a cross connection control specialist.

Student Outcomes:
Students shall be able to:
  • Explain hydraulic concepts of backsiphonage, backpressure and pressure drop
  • Identify causes of abnormal conditions using proper troubleshooting techniques
  • Identify acceptable/unacceptable backflow prevention installations
  • Explain reasons for using proper procedures

This course is Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Please park in the Event Parking Lot - Lot C.  This parking is located on the North side of Ashford Street before you enter Cucamonga Valley Water District.  The classroom is located on the first floor of the Frontier Project.  The Frontier Project is the building located on your right when you enter the gate.

Computer-based Testing for CA-NV AWWA Certification:
CA-NV AWWA uses a computer-based exam for certification exams.  Candidates may take their certification exam on a computer at testing sites in cities across California and Nevada.  Please reach out to the certification department for more information.
