The Project Management 101 Webinar Series is designed to provide a comprehensive overview to project management principles and practices for professionals in the water industry. Participants begin by exploring the essential roles, responsibilities, and competencies of effective project managers. The series also presents an overview of the major stages and associated tasks for capital water infrastructure projects. Participants will then be provided with practical tools and techniques for managing project stakeholders, teams, scope, schedule and budget. This Series is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge to anticipate challenges, support project teams, and deliver capital projects efficiently and successfully. Participants will also learn the importance of leadership, communication, planning, and best management practices in project management. Together, these sessions provide a comprehensive overview for the water professional looking to develop or hone their skills in the area of project management.
Sessions:
This Session provides participants with an overview of the essential responsibilities and competencies of a successful project manager in the water industry. Participants will learn about key leadership, communication, and management skills as they relate to successful project management. Participants will also learn how to recognize and mitigate common project challenges and understand the critical role a project manager plays in delivering projects effectively. The Session also presents practical knowledge and examples to support successful project teams and outcomes.
This Session provides a general overview of the major stages of capital improvement projects for water infrastructure and the various tasks included in each of the stages. Participants will identify the key steps involved in each stage of the capital project process, clarify roles and responsibilities of the project manager and various stakeholders, and develop a basic understanding of best management practices that support effective and efficient capital project delivery.
- Project Manager’s Toolkit
This Session focuses on practical project management resources and tools used to support successful project delivery. Participants will learn how to apply techniques for managing project teams and stakeholders, project scope, schedule, and budget, and implement effective strategies for identifying and mitigating project risks. The Session will also present a variety of tools and strategies to achieve project objectives and deliver successful projects.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Training upon successful completion of the FULL 3-part webinar series!
