Well Design & Construction Workshop-Lakewood

AWWA members $150 / Non-Members $250 This workshop will highlight the critical components associated with the design & construction of a municipal ground water production well. The presentations will address the major steps involved in the well construction process including siting criteria, material selection, formation sampling, gravel pack selection, screen slot size selection, well development, pump selection & well performance evaluation. Proper application of these design & construction techniques can maximize the well's production potential & service life. Additional topics will include the definition of well efficiency & a discussion on the hydraulic losses that contribute to drawdown in the well. The primary goal for designing & constructing an efficient well is to minimize the hydraulic losses which will reduce the drawdown in the well, thereby resulting in lower pumping costs for the well owner. This workshop is 8:00am-4:00pm. Earn up to 7.0 contact hours.
