Water Quality & Regs For Microbial Parameters-WS

Objective:
Provide attendees with a general but complete overview of water quality aspects that pertain to drinking water quality with a focus on microbial constituents, along with their regulatory requirements.

Description:
The workshop begins with an introduction on source water types & classification of contaminants, followed by an introduction on microbial contaminants & inactivation. An introduction on drinking water regulations is then provided, including a presentation of the regulatory agencies, potential health effects that may results from water contaminants, & regulatory processes (Unregulated Contaminants Monitoring, UCM, Program; & Contaminant Candidate Lists, CCL). Selected microbial indicators are then discussed: bacterial, protozoa, viruses, fungi and algae.

This class is 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Earn up to 8 contact hours.
